Richard Schisano

Prior to joining Thomas J. Murphy, Richard Schisano served as the divisional manager of both the Poughkeepsie and White Plains division of the Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. 
During his tenure at the court Richard specialized in consumer bankruptcy, co-authoring the current loss mitigation procedure as well as modifying both the chapter 13 plan and order currently in use at the court.
   
Prior to his tenure with the court he spent 30 years representing clients in all aspects of consumer bankruptcy, real estate transactions, drafting wills, trusts, and litigating estate matters as a partner in a local law firm. Mr. Schisano received his B.S. in accounting from Fordham University in 1976 and his J.D. degree from Seton Hall Law School in 1979.
He has recently completed the latest update of the electronic filing chapter of Collier’s Bankruptcy Practice Guide. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Greater Hudson Valley Bankruptcy Bar Association, past President of the Greater Newburgh Bar Association and has lectured on various bankruptcy topics throughout the State.
